Job Summary:

The Event Manager will be responsible for organizing and managing hackathons focused on Generative AI. This role involves coordinating all aspects of event planning, from initial concept to post-event evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, a keen interest in AI technology, and the ability to create engaging and innovative event experiences. They will work closely with internal teams, sponsors, participants, and external partners to ensure each hackathon is a resounding success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute Generative AI hackathons, ensuring all aspects of the event run smoothly and meet strategic objectives.
• Act as master of ceremony for the lablab.ai events
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define event goals, themes, and target audiences.
• Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, managing all logistics from venue selection to participant registration.
• Coordinate with marketing teams to promote hackathons through social media, email campaigns, and other channels.
• Oversee the creation of event materials, including schedules, participant guides, and promotional content.
• Manage the hackathon registration process, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
• Arrange for keynote speakers, judges, mentors, and other essential personnel.
• Ensure technical requirements for the hackathons are met, including reliable internet access, hardware, and software needs.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of event, ensuring everything is in place for a successful event.
• Handle any issues or problems that arise during the event, providing quick and effective solutions.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, participants, and internal teams to ensure a high level of satisfaction and engagement.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in Generative AI and hackathon best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in event planning and management, preferably with a focus on tech or AI-related events.
• Strong communication capabilities and able to talk to technical audiences as speaker and as master of ceremonies.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and technologies.
• Proven track record of successfully managing hackathons or similar events.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Creative and detail-oriented, with a passion for innovation and technology.
• Proficient in event management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
